Privacy notice

Squarelatch is operated by Hydr₳, an individual. This notice explains in plain language how the site handles data; it is not legal advice.

Summary

What you type into the generator stays on your device. The code and the download files are created by JavaScript in your browser. They are never sent to us or anyone else.

What we do not do

• No accounts or sign-up.
• No cookies, local storage of your entries, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and no third-party fonts or embeds.
• The site's security policy blocks the page from sending network requests with your content.

What our hosting provider may log

Like any website, the host serving these pages may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, time, page requested and browser type) for security and operations. This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, so Cloudflare handles that technical traffic under its own privacy policy. We do not use those logs to track or profile visitors.

Codes you share

Anyone who scans a code you print can read its contents, including Wi-Fi passwords and contact details. Only encode what you are happy to share.

Future paid tier

Editable codes and scan statistics would involve processing data on our servers. This notice will be updated, and you will be told what is collected, why and for how long, before any such feature launches.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, data protection laws (for example the UAE PDPL or the EU GDPR) may give you rights over your personal data. Because the generator does not send us what you type, we normally hold no personal data about you. For any question about your data, email rdalio321@gmail.com.
