    Print and test
    • Print at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide for codes scanned at arm's length. A common rule of thumb: width ≈ scanning distance ÷ 10. A poster read from 2 m needs about 20 cm.
    • Keep the blank quiet zone (4 modules) around the code. Do not let borders, text or photos touch it.
    • Use dark modules on a light background with strong contrast. Avoid glossy laminates that cause glare under shop lights.
    • Use the SVG or PDF download for print shops; they stay sharp at any size.
    • Test the printed proof, not the screen: try at least one iPhone and one Android phone, at the real distance and in the real lighting, before printing the full run.
    • Put the code where the visit ends: on the receipt, the counter, or the takeaway bag.
    • Ask every customer, not only happy ones. Google's review policies prohibit offering incentives for reviews and selectively asking only satisfied customers.
    

    Frequently asked questions
    Where do I find my review link?
    Sign in to your Google Business Profile, choose Ask for reviews (sometimes shown as Get more reviews) and copy the link. It usually looks like g.page/r/…/review.
    What is a Place ID?
    A unique identifier Google uses for each place on Google Maps. You can look it up with Google's Place ID Finder in the Maps Platform documentation. The tool turns it into a link of the form search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=…
    Can I offer a discount for a review?
    Do not. Google's policies prohibit incentivised reviews, and such reviews can be removed. Ask politely and make it easy; that is what the code is for.
    Is this tool affiliated with Google?
    No. It only builds a link and a QR code. Google is a trademark of Google LLC.
